Amanda Bossard graduated from high school in 1992. She then began studying marine sciences at the Alaska Pacific University, Anchorage. Bossard started her profession as a seafood commercial worker in 1999. Bossard began working with the ship F/V Sunset which was a 65' halibut schooner and was later converted into a Salmon tender, in the name of Murat Aritan. She was employed in commercial fishing since. Bossard has married Aritan. They've come together and have claimed their respective fields. They both believe in saving as well as profiting from natural resources that are used in the fishing industry. Otolith is directly wholesale distribution of seafood which was founded in Philadelphia in 2007 by a mother of two kids, Bella age 3 and Andre aged 1. Her husband has a long career in the fishing industry that often means they stay separated from each other for five months or more. That's when they are focusing on their environment and financial objectives. Bossard together with Isabella as well as Andre (ages 12 and 10 respectively) return each year, beginning in July of 2016, to Southeast Alaska for the summer harvest of wild salmon. Hooks and lines are used to capture their salmon and then join Aritan to sell to local processors for a period of two months. They then continue to increase their direct seafood market via Otolith Sustainable Seafood.
